What Do I Have Here?

Greetings!

What is the model/name of the watch I inherited?
I call it by a generic name but don't know much about it, how old the model is, etc.

I've found it named online as a "Panda," but I'm assuming that is just a nickname based on the color scheme.

Butch

That is a two register chronograph from the early 1970's. And yes, that is a nickname these silly young people made up for that model.

It is in fact a so-called reverse-panda, if I am not mistaken. A (real, live) panda has a white furred face except for two black circles around the eyes. Chronographs with that color combination are therefore often referred to as pandas. And yours is obviously the opposite. Butch is probably right that this is a relatively modern label - and it's certainly not an official Zodiac model name. Very watch by the way.

Ah, yes.  "Reverse Panda" does make zoological sense!  Thankfully, I will no longer have to refer to it as such.  I'll stick with Two Register Chrono if the need to be professional about it arises.

Thank you, kind sir!
